it's strange when people try too hard to analyse a play. to analyse the underlying themes and morality and try really hard to say something intelligent.
first and foremost, it should touch me; it should trigger something, some emotional connection, whatever it may be - pity, anger, disgust, compassion, or empathy. if not it all becomes a rather intellectual, academic exercise. just putting issues out there doesn't quite do the trick, and i might as well have read an academic essay.
i've never heard the word "postmodern" used so....oh i hate to say this, but pretentiously!!! in my life.
and i suddenly miss the candour and self-deprecation. (yes you - you and your friends and your version of post-modernity. :))
oh well.
