human dynamics are a weird thing. it's so easy to upset a balance..
yesterday a friend of my chinese flatmate moved in temporarily, and since yesterday my chinese roommate, his girlfriend (i guess?) and his friend have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen every night. well, since it's only yesterday and today that's really only 2 nights. but still. there's still definite sense of discomfort and dissatisfaction in the air - with an overcrowded fridge and lack of kitchen space and everyone trying to cook dinner at the same time.....
my other flatmates are nice people but i could definitely sense that they were feeling a little irritated at the lack of space and the intrusion of people who did not belong to the flat.
it didn't help that they spoke in chinese (which no one else really understands) and all the time, making the kitchen seem like a 'chinatown.' and also, the fact that the new guy bought a ton of vegetables and meat today while grocery shopping to add to the already full fridge definitely made things worse.
haha i don't know which group i feel closer to.
it's weird to be kinda in the middle. *grin*
