singapore is beautiful, too.

i went cycling this morning at East Coast park. rented a 21-gear bike from Kit Runner's (despite so many bike rental places at East Coast, I find myself always going back there...*grin* i guess i developed a certain loyalty to them for their help with the cycling marathon qt puee al and I organized 3 years ago).

after cycling on a no-gear, mama-wari bike in Tokyo for the past 4 months, riding a 21-gear bike felt insanely good. :) i felt...powerful.

catching east coast on a sleepy weekday morning, without the crowds of families and weekenders and schoolkids, made for a rather peaceful morning spent in solitude, riding with the wind against my face and joni mitchell (and then james blunt) playing on my ipod. and because i just happened to have my camera in my bag at the time, i couldn't resist getting off my bike and taking out my camera to take a couple of shots. it's amazing how little pictures i actually have of singapore, despite all the pictures i have of my overseas travels.

you wouldn't know it was morning (about 9am) from the picture above, would you.

singapore's coastline....

and east coast park is also the perfect spot for plane-watching, and wondering where all those planes are going.....
