sendai

sendai was a whirl.

this was at the karakuwa peninsula, at rikuchu kaigan. (rikuchu coast) we didn't know whether we'd be able to get there after getting off a bus seemingly in the middle of nowhere for our hostel *grin* and i must say i thought i'd be disappointed, because i really wanted to see the coast. but the hostel owner actually offered to drive us there early in the morning :)

and at first we cldn't see the rocks because it had rained the night before and the rocks were enveloped with a dense mist...

but it cleared up soon after. i was glad. :) it was peaceful. and beautiful, and probably the best part of the trip for me.

but chancing upon a summer festival in the small sleepy port town of kesennuma to celebrate the birthday of feudal lord Date Masamune was definitely an unexpected and yet very welcome occurrence, one which was thoroughly enjoyed. (thought the chocolate bananas looked slightly obscene. :))




and of course, akiu falls was beautiful as well.


plus, i had quite some fun wading through the water, though probably not as much as fun as these kids did in their swimsuits. :)
already making plans to be back in japan. hokkaido, probably. :) brother wants to go after his O levels (which means, Dec 2009. hopefully i'll be able to take leave from work, assuming i'm already working...)

we'll see. :)

it was a good trip...i only wish i had more time....but then again, don't we always?
