i keep forgetting to take photos!

had a great dinner tonight with some of the exch students and one other japanese friend; my flatmate/junior/fellow exch student from penn and I made japanese curry, and japanese korokke (which comes from 'croquette', as our french friend so kindly pointed out. According to wikipedia: "The croquette (from the French croquer (v), bite), was originally a French invention that gained a world-wide popularity both as a delicacy as well as an industrially produced fast food.") oh and also made salad (dark leaves, a rarity in japan) with balsamic vinegar and cherry tomatoes.

it's funny how both the japanese dishes we made tonight were not of japanese origin. *grin*

i realized i like hosting people. and cooking, and organizing parties and such. makes me feel warm and fuzzy when people are happy. :)

sigh but i didn't take photos of people, again :( too caught up with the talking. it was funny, though. at one point of time there were 3 conversations going on simultaneously at the table. i gave up after a while and just didnt talk, cos the others were too loud. *grin* but i did take pictures of the uncooked korokke/croquettes; we made them from scratch. :)

will try making them again, flatter and with more breadcrumbs, and will probably try baking them instead of frying them. :) but it was good.
